Pampa Tigre is located in the Junin region of Peru. The Chanchamayo region is known for its rich history and its importance in the development of Peru . During the pre-Hispanic period, the region was inhabited by different indigenous groups, such as the Asháninkas, the Yánesha and the Amueshas. These indigenous groups have preserved their cultural traditions and traditional ways of life despite external influences.
The history of the Chanchamayo region was marked by Spanish colonization in the 16th century. The Spanish established haciendas and introduced coffee culture to the region. The Chanchamayo Valley has proven to be a suitable place for coffee cultivation due to its climate, fertile soils and favorable geographical conditions. In addition, the Chanchamayo region also has historical significance due to its role in the fight against Spanish colonization. During the period of Peru's independence in the 19th century, Chanchamayo was the scene of battles and resistance movements against colonial forces.
Today, the Chanchamayo region is a popular tourist destination due to its magnificent landscapes, rich biodiversity and coffee plantations. Visitors can learn about the region's history, explore coffee plantations, visit nature reserves, and immerse themselves in local indigenous culture. Tiger Pampa before the arrival of the settlers was a virgin forest where many jaguars lived, which gave its name to this district.
